The Schubertiade of the styriarte 2020 is about bridges between songs and a famous string quartet: In the D Minor Quartet D 810, as is well known, Schubert processed the music of death from his song "Death and the Maiden". Daniel Johannsen sings the song immediately before the variations from the quartet, along with its counterpart "Der Jüngling und der Tod" and famous night songs such as "Leise flehen meine Lieder" or "Nacht und Träume". "Auf dem Strom" expands into a vocal scene with obbligato cello before the wild finale of the D minor quartet leads into the night.
