On July 1, the Austrian festival summer starts in the Helmut List Halle in Graz: with the fastest opera production of the century, the short political opera "The Muses of Parnassus".

Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen, Culture Minister Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler, Styrian Governor Hermann Schützenhöfer, Graz City Councillor Günter Riegler and many other guests of honour will be in Graz for the start of the festival summer. The styriarte has taken this opportunity to commission a little opera, which will now be premiered on July 1 at 5 pm in the Helmut List Halle and will include the opening speeches of the Federal President and the other guests of honour. The libretto is by Thomas Höft and was commissioned on 12 June. The music comes from the young Austrian composer Flora Geißelbrecht. She began composing on 13 June and completed it four days later. Now this piece for six female voices is available for a cappella and is already being rehearsed. The six singing muses are staged by Wolfgang Atzenhofer and dressed by Lilli Hartmann.
