In addition to the New Year's Concert, the Summer Night Concert with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra has already established itself as a highly valued tradition. In an atmospheric setting the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra offers the audience an evening filled with joyous music at the highest level, and all this with free admission. This year's theme of the concert is "Virtuoso Images". Valery Gergiev conducts the Open- Air Event, which takes place against the magnificent backdrop of the Schönbrunn Palace and its baroque park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
