Since 2004, the Summer Night Concert with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in Schönbrunn - in addition to the traditional New Year's Concert - has developed into an important musical celebration of Austria to the whole world. Every year, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra invites the residents of the city and their guests to a musical treat of the highest order in the midst of the unique ambience of the palace park. In 2016 the conductor Semyon Bychkov and the pianists Katia and Marielle Labèque will enter the summer concert stage at Schönbrunn for the first time with a French-influenced programme. In addition to Francis Poulenc's Piano Concerto for two pianos, works by Georges Bizet, Maurice Ravel and Johann Strauss son will also be heard.
