Five movements from the Dramatic Symphony "Romeo and Juliet" Op. 17 by Hector Berlioz (1803-1869). Sir Georg Solti conducts the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Recorded in October 1977 at the Chicago Orchestra Hall. The instrumental pieces are among the most beautiful music Berlioz wrote. The work reflects the enthusiasm for Shakespeare which characterized French romanticism.
