The Swiss lyrical tenor Mauro Peter sang a Mozart recital at the Mozartwoche 2019 with his permanent accompanist and luminary Helmut Deutsch. And he also stood in for Rolando Villazón in Mozart's Requiem.

In 2013 Mauro Peter became a member of the ensemble at Zurich Opera House and gives guest performances in numerous renowned opera houses around the world, including Milan's Scala and the Opéra National de Paris, as well as at the Salzburg Festival, where he has been regularly represented since 2012. In summer 2018 he sang in the opening premiere of the Salzburg Festival "Tamino" in the "Magic Flute". This masterpiece with spectacular staging by Lydia Steier is part of the fidelio library.

In this interview he talks about his role in Alban Berg's "Wozzeck", his love for Mozart and opera and his rituals before performances. He also tries to describe the challenges of a lyrical tenor nowadays and which roles he particularly likes to sing.
