The Symphonieorchester and Chor des Bayrischen Rundfunks, conducted by Andris Nelson,perform masterpieces of Italian opera with the sought-after Latvian soprano Kristine Opolais and the renowned Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja at the atmospheric Odeonsplatz in Munich. On this Italian night the most beautiful arias and duets from Puccinis operas "La Bohème", "Tosca" and "Gianni Schicchi", from Verdi's "La Traviata" and "Aida" as well as Mascagni's "Cavalleria Rusticana" are presented. The programme is completed by the moving choirs and overtures from Verdi's operas "Nabucco" and "Aida".
