For more than 40 years, the Wiener Symphoniker’s televised Easter concert “Spring in Vienna” has been one of the highlights of the Viennese concert calendar. With musical guests of international stature and a colourful bouquet of rousing melodies, the Wiener Symphoniker drive out the winter chill and ring in the vibrant new season. Over the decades, many international conductors and soloists have shared a stage with the Wiener Symphoniker to greet the warmth of the new season. In 2018, the Hungarian conductor Ádám Fischer, an old and close friend of the orchestra, will conduct the concert for the second time. The Janoska Ensemble from Slovakia will join him. Together, they invite you on a musical journey along the Danube from Budapest via Bratislava to Vienna with works by conductors including Brahms, Dvorák and J. Strauss.
