On 6 January 1870 the Musikverein building in Vienna was ceremonially opened, which in its now 150-year history has achieved worldwide fame, especially through the television broadcasts of the New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The new documentary by Felix Breisach is dedicated to the exciting history of the building's origins and discovers known and unknown corners from the "cellar" to the "attic". Thomas Angyan, the long-standing director of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde, leads us through "his house", which he added four underground halls equipped with state-of-the-art technology for concerts, rehearsals, conferences and receptions in 2004. Prominent musicians such as Anne Sophie Mutter, Zubin Mehta, Cecilia Bartoli, Piotr Beczala and Mariss Jansons (1943-2019) accompany the tour of the house with musical samples and personal anecdotes.
