On the eve of Richard Wagner's 200th birthday, Christian Thielemann conducted in the Dresden Semperoper the overtures and great tenor scenes from the composer's operas which were premiered in Dresden. At his side was Jonas Kaufmann, one of the most popular Wagner tenors of our time. In memory of Hans Werner Henze (1926-2012), the "Capell-Compositeur" of the Staatskapelle Dresden, the orchestra played his composition "Fraternité: Air pour l'orchestre".
