The Stuttgarter Nachrichten wrote: “The musicians annexed baroque musical formats, and infiltrated them like anarchists, working from inside out to smuggle in elements of jazz and pop”, and then added: “Great fun!”

The Bach.Lab.Group was formed in 2014 for the Stuttgart Music Festival. The aim was to revisit Bach through interactions between baroque players and jazz musicians, and to place him in the context of here and now. This gave rise to a concert programme with a wealth of interconnected links. It includes works as originally written, compositions by members of the ensemble, a commissioned piece, and exciting group improvisations.
