"Eine kleine NachtMusick", Mozart's serenade from August 10, 1787, has become extremely popular and is nevertheless very great music. This becomes particularly apparent when the serenade is performed in its original version for a small string ensemble, as here by the Palais Attems.Hofkapelle. Obviously this program was planned for a performance at the Palais Attems in Graz, but the move to the Helmut List Hall has its advantages. Our audience is not faced with the beautiful and steep stairs in the Palais and can relax and enjoy a good hour of Mozart. The A major Piano Concerto from 1783 is a wonderful accompaniment to the G major Serenade: in its enchanting Andante, Eva Maria Pollerus spreads a nocturnal veil of sound over her fortepiano. What Mozart himself did in his Viennese nights is revealed by the excerpts from his letters in the middle of the beautiful evening.
