In 2006, the Lake Festival under the direction of David Pountney staged a great spectacle with Verdi's opera - "The Troubadour". The story of confusion about love and revenge ending in tragedy is one of Verdi's most popular operas. The leading team - director Robert Carsen, stage Paul Steinberg and lighting magician Patrick Woodroffe - promise a lavish production with a great many visual and musical effects. The televised opera version features the highlights of the opera, the ambience on the lake, and links them to the story of the troubadour.
