The likeable conductor in a relaxed conversation in the splendid tea salon of the Vienna State Opera.
Since 1996, the Viennese conductor has regularly conducted over 230 performances of 30 different operas at the 1st "Haus am Ring".
He talks about his love for opera - especially Italian opera, of course - which is part of his DNA. He has an enthusiasm for Vienna - in no other city is there such a lively opera culture as here. He also talked about his very personal approach as an opera conductor and what he believed the role of the conductor should be in the opera, his work with opera legends like Plácido Domingo and newcomers like Ivan Magrì.
His musical ambitions beyond the opera were also a theme. However, it cannot be denied that Marco Armiliato lives for opera and his passion for it he can hardly hide in conversation. See for yourself!
