Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791): Piano Concerto No. 5 in D major, K. 175. Robert Levin (piano), Academy of Ancient Music, conductor: Christopher Hogwood. Recorded in February 1997 in the Mozarteum Salzburg. Mozart wrote almost all his piano concertos for his own use, for he was one of the most brilliant virtuosos of his time. The Concerto K. 175 was written in December 1773 in Salzburg and is considered - after several transcriptions of works of other composers in concert form - as Mozart's first "real" piano concerto.
