Since 2004, the Summer Night Concert with the Vienna Philharmonic in Schönbrunn - in addition to the traditional New Year's Concert - has developed into an important musical greeting from Austria to the whole world. Every year, the Vienna Philharmonic invites the residents of the city and their guests to a musical treat of the highest order in the midst of the unique ambience of the palace park. For the second time since 2014, the German conductor Christoph Eschenbach will conduct the Summer Night Concert and - in keeping with this year's motto "Fairytales and Myths" - dive with the Vienna Philharmonic into the fabulous fantasy worlds of Tschaikowsky's "Sleeping Beauty", Humperdinck's "Hansel and Gretel", Strawinsky's "Firebird" or John Williams' film music to "Harry Potter". The American star soprano Renée Fleming will celebrate her premiere on the summer concert stage at Schoenbrunn, fulfilling the fairytale motto with opera arias by Dvorák and orchestral songs by Rachmaninow.
