Against the dream backdrop of Schönbrunn Palace, the Vienna Philharmonic invite you to a special open-air event with free admission: the "Schönbrunn Summer Night Concert 2019". It will be conducted by Gustavo Dudamel. The soloist is Yuja Wang, the Chinese pianist combines great virtuosity with charismatic stage presence. With Bernstein's "Rhapsody in Blue" in the version for piano and orchestra, she brings an audience favourite with her. The programme includes works by Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin, Anton Dvorák and Johann Strauss (son), among others. The musical direction of this atmospheric concert will be taken over by the worldwide popular star conductor Gustavo Dudamel. Making music accessible to everyone: This ideal, to which the Venezuelan is tirelessly committed, has become his trademark. Through his work as a concert and opera conductor on four continents, Dudamel inspires listeners of all ages. He is also a welcome guest conductor of the Vienna Philharmonic. The Vienna Philharmonic is considered a prominent export article of Austria in the cultural sector. The Orchestra would like to offer a musical live experience to all guests of the city as well as to the Viennese and thus continues the success of the last years. In 2018 alone, around 100,000 visitors enjoyed this highlight in the palace park.
